Our journey

Who we are

At Dani's Bees, our journey began with a simple quest for better pollination in our poly tunnel back in 2016. What started as curiosity quickly became a passion for the remarkable world of honeybees. After months of research, I enrolled in a beginner’s beekeeping course in Elgin in June 2017. The course was both inspiring and dauting, opening my eyes to the intricate lives of bees and the challenges of caring for them responsibly. Determined to prepare myself further, I spent months studying independently, knowing I wasn’t ready to take the leap just yet.

During the winter of 2017/2018, I joined the Aberdeen & District Beekeeping Association (ADBKA) Beginners Classes. This hands on learning experience gave me the confidence I needed to take the plunge. By May 2018, I brought home my first colony from ADBKA, carefully transporting them from Crathes Castle across the Cairn O'Mount to their new home. That day marked the beginning of my beekeeping journey and my commitment to raising healthy, thriving bees.

Over the years, my dedication has grown, and so has my expertise. After successfully passing the Scottish Beekeepers Association Basic Beekeeping exam with distinction, I earned my BB certificate, officially recognizing my skills. Today, Dani's Bees stands as a testament to my love for beekeeping, offering award winning honey while supporting sustainable beekeeping practices.

Our journey is far from over. With a commitment to raising thriving bees and producing top quality honey, the goal is to continue crafting award winning products while embracing sustainable practices. Future plans include expanding the existing apiaries, finding new apiaries and experimenting with new crops to give you different honeys, inspiring others to support beekeeping and collecting enough awards to my name (100 needed) to be able to sit the honey judge exam.
